Day 1 Vancouver, Canada. We pick you up from the airport and take you to your ship.


In port until late afternoon


Day 2 Scenic cruising: Inside Passage. Settle in and relax on the beautiful Viking Spirit. Take in the views from the Explorers’ Lounge or your private veranda and enjoy the scenic seascape as you look out for dolphins, whales and sea birds. Or head to The Spa to unwind in Nordic style.


Day 3 Ketchikan, Alaska. The bustling town of Ketchikan sits against a backdrop of forested hills, its waterfront buzzing with floatplanes, fishing boats, ferries and barges. Explore the ‘Salmon Capital of the World’ on an included Duck Boat tour. Or take an optional 4x4 drive into the Tongass National Forest – America’s largest national forest. Or fly above the Misty Fjords National Monument for a bird’s eye view of the spectacular wilderness. Approx. 9 hours in port


Day 4 Sitka, Alaska. Once a thriving trading port, the island of Sitka boasts a colourful Russian heritage. Russians arrived here as early as 1741 and their history can be explored on an included walking tour where you can see the Russian Bishop’s House and visit Sitka Fine Arts Camp. Other attractions in Sitka National Historical Park include native Tlingit and Haida totem poles, standing on the scenic coastal trail. Approx. 8 hours in port


Day 5 Juneau, Alaska. Only reached by boat or plane, Alaska’s capital is perhaps the nation’s most beautiful. Take a stroll around the city centre which hugs the sides of Mount Juneau and Mount Roberts and is a maze of narrow streets where historic storefronts sit alongside new buildings. You may like to join an included excursion to pan for gold at Gold Creek. Or take a tram up Mount Roberts to capture the dramatic views. Alternatively, enjoy a walk on the glacier to admire the incredible scenery. Approx. 9½ hours in port
