INTO THE MIDNIGHT SUN | Bergen to London
Your journey
Day 5 Cruise the Norwegian Sea. Your ship’s smaller size enables navigation of this pristine region of coastal Norway, with its glass-smooth waters and spectacular scenery. On board, enjoy an engaging and illuminating talk about this special part of the world. Relax in the Nordic-style spa, and look forward to a magical evening sailing under the tranquil light of the midnight sun.
Day 6 Tromsø, Norway. The largest city in northern Norway is set against a stunning backdrop of snow-topped mountains. This UNESCO-listed island lies almost 350km north of the Arctic Circle, yet the climate is comfortably warmed by the Gulf Stream. Its history dates back to the 13th century when the first local church was built. On your included tour, visit the Arctic Cathedral and stroll through Tromsø’s Botanical Gardens which features flora from the world’s colder regions. Approx. 10 hours in port
Day 7 Honningsvåg, Norway. One of the joys of sailing on a smaller ship is that you can visit remote places such as Honningsvåg. Once there, a visit to this tiny outpost town takes you to the top of North Cape, or Nordkapp, on an included tour. This dramatic rocky plateau overlooks the Norwegian and Barents Sea from a height of 1,000 feet. Enjoy a choice of optional excursions – from discovering the seabirds of Stappen Island to catching your own King Crab in the pristine waters of Sarnesfjorden. Approx. 7 hours in port
Day 8 Lofoten (Leknes), Norway. Staggeringly beautiful mountain scenery provides the picture perfect backdrop to the Lofoten Islands’ quirky fishing villages. On your included panoramic tour you’ll see the traditional fishing huts known as rorbus. You’ll also visit pretty Haukland Beach and Utakleiv, considered one of the most romantic beaches in Europe. Optional tours include a visit to Lofoten Viking Museum where you can experience a slice of Viking life and cruise along the scenic Trollfjord. Approx. 8½ hours in port
