The Pioneer Academy Trust Introduction
The Pioneer Academy Trust was formed when Stewart Fleming Primary School became an Academy in 2011. In May 2012, the Trust was asked by Bexley Local Authority to support Belvedere Junior School. The school was underachieving and subject to ‘special measures’ following an OfSTED inspection in January 2012. The Trustees were asked to make the school part of The Pioneer Academy Trust and from September 2012 we began to lead the school. Following a successful Ofsted report in March 2013, the school converted to formally become part of our Academy Trust on 1st April 2013.
The Trustees were once again approached by Bexley in the Summer term of 2014 to lead Burnt Oak Junior School. This was agreed and from September 2014, The Pioneer leadership team began to implement changes at Burnt Oak. In September 2016, two further schools joined the trust – Chatsworth Infants School (London Borough of Bexley) and Red Hill Primary School (London Borough of Bromley).
The Pioneer Academy Mantra E 2
Working in partnership, The Pioneer Schools enable a single, creative, ambitious learning community. This is underpinned by a unique ‘Mantra’ which sets the highest principles and promises the very best education for children, delivered in partnership with families and the community. The Pioneer Academy Trust ‘Mantra’ places ‘children first’ and promotes our motto; ’
...and the main thing is learning’.
Positivity – Staff have a responsibility to be positive in their relationships with pupils and supportive of each other.
Rigour – We have a responsibility to ensure every moment a child is in our school will be spent productively. Through thorough use of evidence we will enable all children to make excellent progress.
Aspiration – Our motto is; ‘…and the main thing is learning’. All members of staff aim to promote an extraordinary school day to develop independence and creativity.
Commitment – We put children first.
Energy – Staff are prepared to go the extra mile to provide the best possible education for their pupils. Our aim should always be to provide for the pupils of our school what we would want for our own children.
Standards – We will maintain a relentless focus on raising standards so that all pupils have opportunities to achieve their full potential. We expect all staff to maintain the highest possible standards at all times.
Our school partnerships create a learning ethos that fosters independent learning and broadens horizons for all our children. Our school curriculums include a focus on specialist teaching in the Arts, P.E and Music, which enrich the opportunities for learning.
Together we grow and embed a culture of high aspirations where a commitment to and engagement in learning is the norm for all children. Through sharing the compelling ethos and Mantra of The Pioneer Academy we inspire and instil confidence in the children, their families and the community at all our schools.
