Hopi Ear Candles are an ancient natural therapy and have been used by the Native American Indians for many hundreds of years. The Hopi tribe were located within Arizona, North America and were very skilled agricultural farmers. The Hopi tribes can still be found in Arizona today and the word Hopi translates as “The Peaceful Ones”.
The Hopi Candle, is really a hollow tube made out of cotton flax. The candle is also impregnated with honey, bees wax, chamomile and sage. These are all natural healing products and have been widely used by the indigenous tribes for hundreds of years. All genuine Hopi Candles are made in the traditional manner. Naturally there are some very cheap replicas on the market, which do not have any therapeutic effect.
The Hopi Candle is gently placed into the outer ear canal and the free end is lit and the candle will very slowly begin to burn. Once the candle is lit, the candle acts like a chimney inside the ear and the vibration of the rising air column serves to gently massage the ear drum and promote secretion in the frontal sinuses. The burning action infuses the herbs and essential oils into a vapour, which is then drawn into the auditory canal. This performs a massaging function as well as softening any ear wax or impurities. This will also regulate ear pressure.
Once a treatment has been conducted, ear wax and impurities can still work their way out after 24 – 48 hours.
This treatment is ideal for those who suffer from earache, headaches, migraines, stress, ear noise (Tinnitus) and all sinus related problems and excess ear wax causing deafness.
