Quesada Bowls Club Report sponsored by Spanish Life Properties

Following the Christmas break our leagues are back in full swing, and it is pleasing to say that our Pearls and Diamonds squads are currently holding top positions in both their leagues. Our Swallows squad in the Southern league is in a good position in second place and currently

challenging for the top spot. In the Costa Blanca Winter League our team is still in a good place to challenge for the top spot.

The 18th January 2017 will be a day to remember for Quesada Bowls Club, when we all turned up for our Winter League match against Emerald Isle, only to have to cancel the game due to the bowls green being covered in ice and snow, something not seen in these parts since records began. See the picture of three of our members braving the snowstorm!

Following her recent trip to New Zealand for the World Bowls Championships as part of the Spanish National Team, we are pleased to learn that Carol Broomfield will be travelling

to Australia in March to represent Spain in the World Indoor Singles Championships, and we wish her every success. Carol will be spending time and no doubt getting plenty of support from Lisa and Pete Bonsor, where Pete is currently managing a large bowls club close to Sydney.

Our Saturday morning ‘Chicken Drive’ is open to visitors. Players wishing to take part should report at 9.45am for a 10am start.

For more information about our club please contact our membership secretary Joe Riley on 96 572 5787 or email joediriley@gmail.com. New bowlers are welcome and introductory coaching is available.
