On March 17th, there
only two types of people:
are really those who
are Irish and those who wish they were, but no worries if you were not born on the Emerald Isle as everyone is welcome to join in the fun and be green for the day. Cabo
Roig is turning green for St. Patrick’s Day, on Friday 17th March and hosting a fabulous parade and party to celebrate Ireland’s national Saint. Last year’s parade was not only the largest in Spain, but with about 10,000 people, the second largest in Europe after Dublin and the sixth largest in the world. The ‘strip’ will turn into a sea of green for the day, with all the bars and restaurants offering all things Irish including food, drink, music and hospitality together with face painting, street magicians, bouncy castles, dancers, music and a display of classic and specialist cars and bikes, along with St. Patrick himself. This will be a fun day with something for all the family with loads of prizes and giveaways. The parade will commence between Slievenamon and Bog Road and proceed past the Trinity and Rianxeria onto Calle Cielo passing Bar Liquid and Flanagans, ending at Cabo Roig roundabout. For more information or to take part contact Richie: 637 490 937. There are prizes for the best float and charity fund-raising this year will be Help At Home Costa Blanca. TKO Radio will be providing music and entertainment from around noon until 7pm. The parade starts at around 3pm with a parade of classic cars and bikes, followed by the dignitaries and St. Patrick.
