Book Title: Horrible Histories... Cruel Kings and Mean Queens Author: Terry Deary Publisher: Scholastic


The choice of book for this month is based entirely on my role as Granddad to a couple of growing kids. I will be off to visit the two of them very soon and will be taking this book as a reference and as a reading aid during my visit.


I love the way these Horrible Histories bring out the odd facts about the Kings


and Queens of Britain and use these facts as an amusing aid to teaching. Yes it is a book for kids ...that said it is also a great way to generate interest in both history and in books in general. Ask yourself ...what child would not want to know which King died after falling off the toilet? Enough said...Happy reading to both adults and their young offspring.


Maybe the answer is in this book.
