QF Focus Magazine Hi All!


This month I'd like to feature an entertainer who hails from Scotland and has recently moved to the Costa Blanca South.


I'm referring to Raymond Chuchuck,


Vocalist / Accordionist. Raymond, originally from Wallyford on the outskirts of Edinburgh, began playing


the accordion at 8 years of age, encouraged greatly by his father Walter, himself a musician. Within a short time of learning his instrument, he was soon playing at local village shows and concerts. In 1980, Raymond moved to Galashiels in the Scottish borders to pursue his experience and work with the well known musical instrument supplier Jimmy Clinkscale. It was in the mid 1980s, after developing his knowledge of musical instruments as well as playing them, that Raymond moved further north to Inverness after being offered a contract in the long running cabaret show "Scottish Showtime", directed by the legendary John Worth. Having completed three successful summer seasons, Raymond decided to go it alone, and embarked on a solo career. Over the ensuing years this talented entertainer appeared at venues all over Scotland and England, even fitting in annual tours of Kobe in Japan, where audiences were wowed by the Scottish theme and heritage of Raymond's performances.

Since those days, Raymond has widened his repertoire to cover most genres of music from the 1960s onwards, and much more. In 1993, Raymond secured a recording contract with the Savoy Music Co. He has gone on to sell albums worldwide. Raymond Chuchuck subsequently launched his own production label "Gem Music", producing 14 albums. His most famous album "Let's Dance" went Silver in 2006, and he admits this was the proudest moment of his career. There is no doubt Raymond Chuchuck is a celebrity in the Scottish Highlands, as a regular performer on T.V. and radio, entertaining on a very popular tourist circuit that attracts loyal audiences travelling many miles to see him perform. As previously mentioned, Raymond and his wife Jane have now relocated to Torrevieja and he is looking forward to entertaining audiences along the Southern Costa Blanca.
