HERE COMES THE SUN
Intersolar Middle East is taking place at the Dubai World Trade Centre in Dubai for the first time, from 19 to 21 September. More than 200 world leaders, including energy ministers from the UAE, Jordan and Egypt, will attend, while companies will showcase the latest innovations in solar technology to thousands of global visitors. With events spanning four continents, Intersolar is the world’s leading exhibition series for the solar industry.
POETRY IN MOTION
The Brussels art space operated by the Fondation d’entreprise Hermès is proud to announce the ‘Soft Resistance’ exhibition (7 October-10 December), at La Verrière, Brussels for the Poésie balistique (‘Ballistic Poetry’) season. Curator Guillaume Désanges invited the Caribbean-born artist Hessie (b. 1936, living and working in France since 1962) to present her first solo exhibition in Belgium. The show will feature her seductively beautiful practice that draws on minimalism and the craft tradition to create compositions of geometric motifs in white or coloured thread, on unbleached cotton canvas.
CREATIVE COLLAB
Designjunction is proud to launch the inaugural King’s Cross Creative Quarter (KXCQ) in partnership with the London Design Festival, Knowledge Quarter and King’s Cross Development. It will feature hundreds of new product launches and specially commissioned features, including 10 Monopoly-style houses on Granary Square. Concurrently, the Indian Design Platform organised by Create Culture returns with a new exhibition, ‘Transformation’, taking place at the Guardian building (19–25 September). 22-25 September, 1 Granary Square, King’s Cross, London.

The latest designs by Patricia Urquiola, Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec and Doshi Levien will all be coming to this year’s Downtown Design (25-28 October) during Dubai Design Week (24-29 October), courtesy of Kettal – which is celebrating 50 years of collaborating with the world’s most sought-after designers.
