GOING UP


RMJM has been appointed as the Executive Architect and Interior Designer for The Tower, Santiago Calatrava’s super-tall new structure which will become the focal point of a major new development at Dubai Creek Harbour. Scheduled to open in mid-2020, ahead


of the start of Expo 2020 in the emirate, The Tower’s striking design includes a distinctive net of steel cable stays attached to a central reinforced concrete column. At the top of the tower is an oval-


shaped bud that will be home to ten observation decks, including The Pinnacle Room which will offer 360-degree views of the city and beyond.


CONTRACT AWARDED


The Dhs370 million main construction contract for Jawaher Saadiyat, the latest residential community at the Saadiyat Beach District in Abu Dhabi, has been awarded to Al Jaber Building by the emirate’s Tourism Development & Investment Company. The development overlooks Saadiyat Beach Golf


Club and will feature 83 four- to six-bedroom villas and four-bedroom contemporary townhouses. The villas’ built-up areas range from 636 to 1268


square metres, and include two to four shaded car parks. The townhouses built-up areas range from 462 to 464 square metres and include two shaded car parks.


SHERATON RAK


Due to open in the first quarter of 2019 is the Four Points by Sheraton Ras Al Khaimah. It will be Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide’s first property in the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah and the fourth Four Points by Sheraton in the United Arab Emirates. Starwood is partnering with Hamarain


Real Estate on the project which will be home to 300 rooms and serviced apartments as well as four food and beverage outlets. The hotel will be part of a mixed-use development featuring offices, residences and a shopping mall.
