F1 in Schools – Jaguar Primary School Challenge
www.f1inschools.co.uk
The F1in Schools – Jaguar Primary School Challenge (JPSC) engages with primary school students and teachers across the UK in the same way as the Secondary School Challenge. The challenge is open to students aged 5-11 years old and involves designing and manufacturing the fastest car possible, emulating the design and engineering processes employed by real engineering companies, such as Jaguar Cars.
Students are challenged to form a team of four pupils and design a race car out of 160g/m² card complete with wheels, body and even a mini driver. They will design and manufacture a body shell to fit a standard chassis using template software before printing/cutting their designs onto card and then making their car ready to race.

Land Rover 4x4 in Schools Technology Challenge
www.4x4inschools.co.uk
Supported by Land Rover, 4x4 in Schools is a national competition that gives young people an insight into what it takes to become an engineer. Teams work to design, build, test and market a radio-controlled four wheel drive (4x4) vehicle to set specifications in order to successfully negotiate a test track which emulates that of real life 4x4 vehicles. Competing teams have their vehicles rigorously tested in regional and national heats to find the UK’s champions.
