SANDALS AMBASSADOR ADVERTORIAL

GILLIAN ASHWOOD BRILLIANT TRAVEL

Sandals whisked a group of agents off to the Caribbean as part of its Ambassador campaign, run with Travel Weekly. Agent Gillian Ashwood, weddings and honeymoons ambassador, reflects on her Sandals experience

SANDALS

AMBASSADOR FOR WEDDINGS & HONEYMOONS

I was completely overwhelmed and delighted to become the weddings and honeymoons

ambassador for Sandals. I was even more excited to find out that I would join a one-of- a-kind VIP Ambassadors trip to Beaches Turks and Caicos and Sandals Grande Antigua. Our luxury adventure got off to a flying

start, as we flew British Airways Club World, which is a great way to travel when you’re on honeymoon or going abroad to get married. Turks & Caicos is well known for its beautiful beaches and crystal-clear waters. The Beaches property really is the most idyllic backdrop for stunning wedding photography. And for those at the beginning of their wedding journey, there’s a dedicated

engagement concierge on hand to assist with the perfect proposal. From finding you the ideal spot to get down on one knee, to helping you hide the ring in surprising places, they’ll ensure the proposal goes exactly to plan. If you’re looking to pull out all the stops, they can even arrange for a full orchestra to play as you pop the question.

WEDDING PLANNER On arrival in resort, the bride and groom meet their personal wedding planner to go through the finer details of their day. You can choose to be married in the

gardens, one of the gorgeous gazebos or by the beach. Of course, if there’s a location within the resort that you fall in love with, just tell your wedding planner, who will happily assist with arrangements. Some properties also have a ‘wedding chariot’ (pictured), which transports the bride to the wedding location. Next stop was the gorgeous Sandals

Grande Antigua, often voted the world's most romantic resort. It’s an amazing place for a wedding or honeymoon, with so many romantic areas within the resort. We were lucky enough to witness a wedding taking place during our stay. Seeing first-hand how much the staff go out of their way to make the day a success was so touching. As far as fairytale weddings go, this really is the ultimate way to start married life together. I entered the competition to become a Sandals Ambassador as I love Sandals Resorts

Gillian Ashwood

turned her car into a mobile ad for Sandals

and enjoy selling Luxury Included holidays to my customers. I’m lucky enough to have taken part in a fam trip and enjoyed several personal holidays to Sandals, including my own honeymoon, providing me with extensive knowledge of the resorts and brand.

THE MARKETING POT

As a Brilliant Travel homeworker, I wanted some mobile advertising that would attract attention. I was driving my VW Beetle home one evening when the idea struck me that my own car – affectionately called Love Bug – could be a unique way to promote Sandals Resorts. I am now the proud owner of the only Sandals Love Bug, which I take to wedding shows and I use on a daily basis for work. It attracts a lot of attention because it's bright, unique and no one else has one. I will use the experience of visiting Beaches Turks and Caicos and Sandals Grande Antigua to help wedding and honeymoon clients plan their dream holiday. Along with sending postcards to my returning clients, I’ve been using social media and my database to send out updates and special offers to them.
