display, with a sprinkling of Centenary roadsters, which had their own display and of course plenty of other roadsters and some three-wheelers, mainly of the more modern era. However, there were also some historic Morgans to be found in the Paddock, including the 1929 ex-Clive Lones JAP Aero

Morgan which had been brought out of the Mu- seum’s collection and fired up for the day. This car was the first ‘light car’ to exceed 100mph on a lap at Brooklands, in 1930, and achieved no fewer than 37 world records, fitted with various engines. Parade laps at Mercedes-Benz World are always popular with the drivers and there was a long queue waiting to get out on track, then after lunch the Test Hill was in action with some spirited runs up to the top to entertain the spectators.
