lub level members enjoyed some foot- stomping jazz in October with the traditional


autumn return of the Brooklands All Stars. The band did not disappoint – with yet another feast


of ‘trad’ jazz.


They will be back in the spring, but in the meantime there will be piano music in the bar on Fridays 20th January and 24th February.


TORCHLIGHT TOUR INSPIRES NEW CHILDREN’S BOOK


to the BBC’s Newsround, the Radio Times and BBC Blast. Having first visited the Museum when he was 10, he was inspired to write The Ghost of Brooklands after learning about Brooklands’ haunted history during a Torchlight Tour. The book draws on Brooklands’ history, including the 500 Miles Race and the legends who raced here. It is available through the Museum Shop and on-line and is aimed at an independent reader- ship of 10 years-plus as well as being suitable for family reading – all ghosts in the novel are friendly! Mark is generously donating all proceeds from the book to the Museum.

reading excerpts from his book, went out at 7.20am, just after 8.00am and again around 8.30am, when our Torchlight Tours were also reported. In traditional style, the Torchlight Tour season was kicked off on Halloween night when nearly 50 visitors saw the darker side of the Museum, with a meal followed by guided tours.
