Chamber offers chance to meet MPs
Devon Chamber of Commerce hosted an informal drinks reception to allow members of the business community to engage with the city’s three Members of Parliament, with a view to make this event a regular feature in Devon Chamber’s events calendar. The event, held on Friday 9 December at
The Duke of Cornwall Hotel, saw local business leaders meet with Gary Streeter MP, Johnny Mercer MP and Oliver Colvile MP to discuss the current political environment including topics such as devolution and Brexit giving members the opportunity to discuss the impact on their businesses and put questions to the three MPs. Following a welcome from Devon Chamber of Commerce Chief Executive, George Cowcher and Devon Chamber Chairman, Richard Stevens, who shared the general business outlook across the County from a membership perspective, members heard from each MP who outlined important issues for the city and how they have been representing Plymouth in Westminster most recently. Devon Chamber is planning a series of
MP roundtable events across Devon working with affiliated Chambers’ of Commerce and local constituencies.

Registration open for Business Show
Devon Business Show is returning for 2017 and is set to be bigger and better than before. Now in its fifth year, the business show has
grown in popularity and reputation, with 2017’s event set to again welcome over 150 exhibitors from across the county to Plymouth Pavilions on Wednesday 14 June. 2016’s event saw over 1,000+ visitors at Plymouth Pavilions. The free to attend business show is the largest in the region and once again plans to incorporate a range of business exhibits, interactive areas and networking opportunities. Business Supplies Hub for the second year, providing a forum for businesses to source all of their office supplies in one place.
