Apprentice goes back to his roots

Alan Sanders (pictured) has joined Thomas Westcott Chartered Accountants as its new Audit and Assurance Manager. It is the second time Alan has

worked for Thomas Westcott, having completed his training there before joining national accountancy firm BDO’s Bristol office three years ago. Alan has now returned to Devon

and will be based in Thomas Westcott’s Plymouth office. He said: “Whilst I had a

tremendous time working for BDO, I couldn’t be more excited about my return to Thomas Westcott. “Recent

developments at Thomas Westcott mean that there are fantastic opportunities for growth and development.” Shona Godefroy, Partner and

head of the audit team at Thomas Westcott, said: “Alan joined us straight after university and served an excellent apprenticeship with us. “We couldn’t be happier to have

him back on the team and I believe it speaks volumes about Thomas Westcott and that we are able to attract talented people like Alan back into our business.”

Davies Turner is on the right track for growth

Davies Turner Plc has again been recognised as one of the UK’s leading independent companies in the latest Sunday Times Top Track 250 league table, sponsored by Grant Thornton and Barclays. Compiled by the Oxford-based research and

networking events company Fast Track, the annual table ranks Britain's top performing private firms and entrepreneurs by their latest sales figures and profitability, which sees Davies Turner rising ten places since last year to reach 2016. Davies Turner, Chairman, Philip Stephenson said: “This ranking recognises not only our strong

financial performance but the importance of our continuing focus on responding to customer needs and developing our overseas network. “Top Track 250 companies are an important

engine of the UK economy. These companies are predominantly owned by entrepreneurs, private equity firms and family holdings. It’s a prestigious club to be in. “We are one of a handful of logistics

companies among Britain’s biggest mid- market independents in the 2015 Top Track 250 listing, which is a testimony to the continuing investment that we have been making in our Distribution Centres, IT systems, services and staff training over the last 25 years.”

Davies Turner provides a comprehensive

portfolio of multimodal freight and logistics services to a diverse client base including manufacturers, international traders and retailers as well as other freight forwarders, NGOs and state agencies.
