of the birth of commercial aviation right here in St. Petersburg. Upon entering the museum talks about the first passenger aircraft that flew across the bay to Tampa, a trip that used to take hours before the W. Howard Frankland and Gandy bridges were built. Fighting for the Right to Fight, an exhibit centered around African American experiences in World War II runs through March 5, 2017. Also found within this museum is the personal collection of more than 4,800 signed baseballs, donated by local resident Dennis Schrader. The permanent exhibit features original documents, story boards and video screens connecting America’s national pastime with historical events from the region and around the world.
