must first be employed by the nominating company for three consecutive years. This requirement is in there for two reasons. One is to encourage driver to establish long-term safety habits. The other is to encourage them to commit to a company long enough to see if the job and the company culture are a good fit. A driver earns a membership patch and a certificate for first-year membership. Continuous membership results in a new certificate for each accident-free year, with special awards for reaching each new five-year milestone. When drivers hit the 25-year mark, we celebrate by inducting them into the Nebraska Truck Driving Hall of Fame. When the club started, it was hard to imagine that any driver would reach that 25-year mark. Now we have several Nebraska drivers who have made it there, and well beyond. Member companies submitted 675 drivers for the President’s Safe Driving Club; this includes first year awardees, all the way up to 37 years with a safe driver record! Congratulations to all the PSDC drivers!
