us made our way to Silverwood. Know- ing how long Jayden had been waiting to go to this amusement park made it a little upsetting to me as we entered the gates and made our way onto the train to start the day inside the park. We had pre made our lunches in the

morning and stored them in the coolers in the back of the trucks. We parked the trucks in a spot so that we could have a tailgate lunch party. We hit a few roller coasters and other rides; we were all getting very hot as the temperature climbed near the 40 degree mark again. We lined up for the big water ride that almost guarantees you to get wet. It was the longest line up in the park. Aſter about 15 minutes of waiting in the line up, my middle child Sierrah put her head on my shoulder and said “My vision is going”, and then she collapsed in my arms. I laid her on the ground and my buddy Darren who is a firefighter at home instantly jumped in to help. A very nice person in the line up gave us a frozen bottle of water from their bag. I called for first aid. As soon as Darren put the cold bottle on Sierrah’s neck, her eyes popped wide open and she was back with us, her colour came back and she was feeling better. I helped her walk up the line a bit so she could stand under

the misters that were hanging from the top of the walkway. She rested her head on the fence. When I asked how she was, with no reply I wrapped my arms around her and she collapsed again. Darren ran over to help me carry her back over to a dry area to lay her down. She was not in good shape this time, and was out for minutes. Finally a young kid with first aid showed up. He said they deal

with heat exhaustion every day and had sent three people home with it today already. Darren asked him for ice packs from his first aid bag. “We don’t have ice packs!” he said, so they soaked rags and put them on her neck and under her arms. Sierrah slowly came around. Eventually a wheelchair arrived to take her to the first-aid room on the other side of the park. Aſter a good cool down in an air-conditioned room and a cold Gatorade, Sierrah returned to normal. We then headed straight to the trucks for water and lunch. Aſter our bellies were full and bodies re hydrated, we headed back to the waterpark side to
