Local Businessman Recognized with National Managers of Excellence Award

Steve Anderson, CFCAM, CAM, vice president of operations for Southwest Property Management Corp.

in Naples, has received a Managers of

Excellence award from Reserve Advisors, the nation’s largest provider of reserve study consulting services. Reserve Advisors established the award in 2009 to recognize leaders in community association management.

Anderson has 21 years of industry experience and previously was on-site manager for Island Walk Homeowners Association (HOA). In that position, he oversaw a team of 17 professionals and managed 1,856 single family homes with an $8.5 million dollar budget. In 2011 and 2014, under Anderson’s leadership, the Island Walk Homeowners Association was recognized as “HOA of the Year” by the Community Associations Institute. In 2011, the HOA also earned the Communities of Excellence HOA of the Year award from Florida Community Association Journal.

Anderson is a member of the Florida Community Association Professionals and has earned advanced industry credentials, including his CFCMA and CAM designations. He was recognized as a 2012 Manager of Excellence by Florida Community Association Journal. His background includes studies in accounting, management, finance, military service and carpentry and mechanic’s expertise – all of which have served him well in his career.

“Managing a large and complex property takes a variety of skills and experience,” says Anderson. “I have a well-rounded background in numerous industries and have been able to use that accumulated knowledge throughout my career in association management.”

VOICE

The past nine months of 2016 have been a very positive exciting ride while experiencing an increased interest, not only in CAI, but active involvement in all chapter activities. The larger level of member participation is a result of two things, which are: 1) Member interest and 2) The broadened scope of the chapter driven by the Board predicated upon the Committees’ input. Thanks to all those members serving on the Committees. Your help and the Committees’ input is very important to the chapters continued ability to provide both necessary and helpful education opportunities, exciting social activities and enjoyable interaction between the members with partners and investors.

I want to encourage all to become active in the chapter by responding to the CED when she publishes opportunities because your participation will strengthen the chapter and provide you with experience and interaction with a lot of great people!

Thanks to the Board of Directors for their desire to move forward into uncharted waters and the will to follow through to bring it to manifestation.
