Cinnabar Theater’s YOUNG REP Performs The Musical: The Music Man
Petaluma, CA. ~ The Young Rep- ertory of Cinnabar Theater will perform the musical extraordinaire The Music Man this season, open- ing on Friday, November 18th at 7:30pm. The show will run until December 4th. A sparkling hom- age to a bygone era, The Music Man follows fast-talking traveling salesman Harold Hill as he cons the people of River City, Iowa, into buying instruments and uniforms for a boys’ band he vows to orga- nize – despite the fact he doesn’t know a trombone from a treble clef! His plans are foiled when he falls for spirited Marian (the li- brarian), who transforms him into a respectable citizen by curtain’s fall. With songs such as “Seventy- Six Trombones,” “Till There Was You,” and “Lida Rose,” this award-
winning classic boasts a brilliant, nostalgic score of rousing marches, barbershop quartets, and sentimen- tal ballads that have earned a place among musical theater’s most cherished standards. The Music Man is family en- tertainment at its best. Meredith Willson’s six-time, Tony Award- winning musical comedy has been entertaining audiences since 1957 and is a family-friendly story to be shared with every generation.

To which the professor of psychology replied, “Yes, and I think it’s these pesky wicker chairs.”
