Mt. Rushmore Types I was so very sorry to learn about the passing of John Brizzolara in the October 27 edition of the Reader. Brizz was a fine writer and a helluva character. I greatly admired his writing style and unique view of the world. It was an honor to be a col- league and peer of his. Brizzolara covered just

about everything from A to Z during his illustrious career So lyrical and musical was he that his name covered A to Z twice (“from the A.A. to the Z.Z. could hang with Tay Tay or Mr. Jay Z”). With Reader Mt. Rush-

more types like Brizz and Blubbo having departed this mortal coil, I suppose that leaves Don Bauder as the Keith Richards of the San Diego writing community. Safe travels, Brizz. Say “hi”

to Jimi and Jerry for us. Mark Putnam San Diego

Get Out and Vote I’d like to comment on the

remarks regarding George Soros and Abe Lincoln (Under the Radar, October 20, “Soros versus Lincoln”). Mr. Soros is a crony of Hillary Clinton. She has

praised him publicly. He’s also bankrolled Black Lives Matter to the tune of $100 million. Hillary is a big sup- porter of the movement that promotes lawlessness and fans the flames of racism. It’s incredible that their leader is endorsing Secretary Clinton. The Democratic party has a long history of racism (read D’Sousa’s Hillary’s America: The Secret History of the Democratic Party). Mr. Trump is truly con-

cerned about the black com- munity. He has a plan that will benefit those in the inner city, suburbs, and elsewhere. Hilary panders and just cares about their vote. Get out and vote on November 8! Mark Peter

Under the Radar “DeMaio’s Strange Bedfellows” Posted October 26 Vote NO on measure A ... SANDAG LIES !! 47% goes for transit, 14% goes for roads. How about a propo- sition to disband SANDAG and turn these planning functions back to the county so we can hold the supervi- sors accountable. Now, there is no one the public to hold accountable, they do as they please as an unelected buracracy. Measure A is a slush fund. SANDAG lied to get both TRANSNET 1 and 2 passed, SR 76 still not complete after 40 years, SR 78 has been promised since TRANSNET 1.

— Jay Berman

Hopefully this awful measure will be voted down. — Shimizu Randall
