10 EURO-NEWS Actisense moves home I
nternational marine electronics specialist Actisense welcomed a host of marine industry representatives and local businesses to the official opening of its brand new premises at 21 Harwell Road, Poole, BH17 0GE, UK, on 12 October. The launch, attended by the Worshipful Mayor of Poole, Councillor Xena Dion, was a celebration of the company’s recent move from their previous 3,000 sq ft premises to a new 8,000 sq ft location. It was also a chance to toast an immensely successful 12 months which has seen Actisense win no less than seven awards, including regional, national, international as well as industry accolades. Phil Whitehurst, CEO of Actisense,
said: “We’ve had a great day. We were delighted that so many of our business friends and associates were able to attend and see the new home

Buy-out for Sealift2
A successful management buy-out has been announced by Sealift2 International Ltd, a designer and operator of unique, eco-friendly floating dry docks, and its parent company, Welcome Inn Investments NV, of its marine services business at Haslar Marina in Gosport. Welcome Inn Investments
owns the intellectual property and
patents on the fast boat lifting technology used in Sealift2 docks. This enables the floating docks to provide a lift, clean and relaunch service in under an hour – like a car wash for boats. It also transforms the usual five-seven day turnaround required for anti-fouling to less than 24 hours. “The MBO will enable us to
expand our operations internationally, with a new focus on licensing our fast boat lifting technology for local manufacture,” said Richard Bayley, Managing Director and majority shareholder. The boat servicing operations at Haslar Marina will operate under a new UK company,
Sealift3 Ltd, and sales of docks and licensing of IPR will be handled by Welcome Inn Investments trading as Sealift3. All existing staff, suppliers and customers of Sealift2 International will be transferred to Sealift3 and Sealift2 International will cease trading. The first Sealift2 dock was

Veljko Barbieri Slano Marina, which is marina No. 22 in the Adriatic Croatia International Club (ACI) chain, has been completed by Marinetek NCP as a perfect tie-in with ACI’s 33rd birthday. Slano is the first new marina to be built for ACI in 18 years. Situated just 30 km from the
historic part of Dubrovnik and 49 km from Cilipi Airport, Slano is a favoured
tourist destination sheltered in a 2 km bay. The new 200-berth marina will in general accommodate vessels up to 20 metres in length and be home to small charter fleets. Larger visiting boats can moor up if space permits. “We expect berth occupancy to be 50:50 for Croatians versus overseas boat owners,” said Marina Director Danijela Stankovic. “Most of our Croatian
