New website for MDL Marina Consultancy…

T

he 2016 Southampton Boat Show witnessed the launch of a brand new website from MDL Marina Consultancy,

a division of MDL Marinas, Europe’s largest marina operator. Showcasing the company’s

expertise, capabilities and the many high profile marina projects the team has undertaken, the new site (www.mdlconsultancy.com) has been totally redesigned and rebuilt following extensive customer research to ensure it offers the best possible user experience. Taking this feedback on board, the modern site is easy to navigate, with engaging content, interactive features and a visually appealing, cutting-edge design, reflecting MDL’s position as a leader in the marina industry. The clear layout and inspiring design really brings the team’s work to life, alongside real life case studies of their work. To make it easy to filter the case studies, a new interactive map feature has been created, which allows users to filter by region or by the service they require. One such case study showcases

the company’s latest project, a feasibility study and outline

development plan for a marina at Northfleet Harbour in Kent. Northfleet Harbour Restoration Trust and Ebbsfleet Development Corporation commissioned MDL Marina Consultancy to investigate the viability of bringing the harbour back into use. The MDL Marina Consultancy team’s challenge was to develop a design to make best use of the site, not only for marina berth holders, but also to provide space for reinstating traditional boat servicing facilities, large berths for historic watercraft, as well as state-of-the- art marina facilities. It is an excellent example of the team’s capabilities, allowing them to deliver a blueprint for the marina along with detailed analysis showing the positive impact of the marina in the local economy. A fresh addition to the new site is

an intelligent system that recognises the user’s interests and highlights further project-related news and case studies that further enhance the customer experience. The website works across all

platforms, from tablets to laptops and smart phones to desktops, responding to the ever-growing demand from customers to access

information all the time, including when on the move. It has also been fully integrated

with social media functionality, from in-bound feeds and links from MDL Marina Consultancy social channels, as well as using relevant social media tools to encourage sharing and collaboration across the growing social networks. Alex Beere, Head of MDL Marina

Consultancy, commented: “Design and engineering is vital to our role in any marina project and we paid close attention to this so that it was applied to our own website. We have worked hard to ensure

our new website puts the needs of our customers at its very heart, utilising the latest responsive design technology to deliver impact. We are very pleased with the new site – it looks fantastic and makes use of great imagery and a number of engaging multimedia features”. MDL Marina Consultancy will be

rolling out new pages and features over the coming months, such as informative White papers to share the team’s knowledge and expertise in the field of marinas and language options for its ever-growing international audience and customer base.

…and also another for LeeSan

In addition to being the place to find just about anything connected with marine sanitation systems and marina pump-out equipment, LeeSan says that its new website

has been developed to provide boat-owners and marina operators with access to the largest range of spare parts (especially for heritage products or older models)

anywhere in the world. Providing customers have some

idea of what they are looking for, they can probably find it on the new site and if not, a call to the company or an e-mail with a photograph will almost certainly provide the answer. With over 50 years’

concentrated experience in this marketplace, the LeeSan team is confident of curing any service, odour or operation problems. Interestingly, the company

is now discovering that the equipment and systems, which they have been developing and improving for boat-owners for so long, are now being used by

the wider leisure and hospitality markets. Temporary shower and toilet blocks, film set support vehicles and Formula One trackside hospitality units are just a few of the applications that are now being fitted with custom-designed systems. The site also features a

comprehensive section dealing with all aspects of pump-out systems for marinas and canal or river systems, even down to self-pump- out kits for individual moorings or small clubs. The site is easy to use and,

because over 50% of access is now via hand-held devices, completely ‘mobile-friendly’.
