An exciting time for Devon Chamber
Welcome to Devon Chamber’s new member magazine, Chamber Profile. As the Chamber has continued to expand across the county it is fitting that its member publication undergoes a transformation too. I would like to thank our new publishers, Kemps, for the rebrand of this magazine which now truly reflects the ambitions and drive of businesses in Devon. Since June, business has seen a shift in confidence and security resulting from the UK’s decision
to vote out of the European Union. Brexit poses many challenges and opportunities for the UK’s business community and Devon businesses in particular will feel an impact as Government moves towards confirming what a post-Brexit Britain may look like. In the Chamber Opinion piece on page 10 we cover the lobbying steps that the Chamber is taking as a result of the European Referendum and the Chamber’s priorities for Government to address in light of Brexit. September sees the second year of the Devon Chamber Awards, as we join together to
celebrate the success of businesses in Chamber membership from across the county it is positive to see the vast range of sectors represented within this year’s shortlist. The Chamber would like to wish all of its shortlisted members luck in the awards and looks forward to welcoming guests on the 16 September for the Awards ceremony to celebrate business success in the county. Within this edition you’ll find key features focussing on two major industries demonstrating
growth in the county, Construction and Hotels, Events & Conferencing, highlighting the fantastic work that Chamber members are doing in Devon. On behalf of the Chamber I hope you enjoy the first edition of Chamber Profile, and look forward to seeing you at one of the Chamber’s upcoming events.
