the interior also features images that have been pulled from SWIB’s archive. The bus was the brainchild of Managing Director Richard Stevens and Commercial and Marketing Manager Mark Collins. Richard Stevens said: “Plymouth has a
great history. One of which we wanted to bring to life, using a moving gallery. This project enables passengers to go back in time and embrace Plymouth’s rich heritage. We wanted the bus to be a celebration of the past, but also enable us to look forward.”

What is Beacon Medical Group? Beacon Medical Group, one of the Chamber's select GP practices, is home to four GP surgeries; Plympton Health Centre, Chaddlewood Surgery, Ivybridge Health Centre and Wotter Surgery. As a partnership we formally merged on 1 April 2014 and provide GP services to approximately 33,000 patients.
What’s been happening recently? We’ve recently been taking to the stage at national events to share our learning about growing and redefining core services for patients. Formed just two years ago, our ambitious approach to radically upgrading local healthcare earned us the accolade of Primary Care Home - just one of 15 in the UK.
What do you do differently as a business? Already in its short history Beacon has been disrupting what a normal practice offers. Our specialist dermatology and musculoskeletal services have brought hospital services into the family doctor practice, with the majority of patients now being seen at their local surgery rather than at hospital and within two weeks. At our Plympton site patients now have
faster access to help with an innovative urgent care team, including a clinical pharmacist and paramedic practitioner. The team is also working with local businesses to bring technology into the NHS.
