“It’s important for me to reconnect with my roots and understand, how would my family do this?" she said.
In St. Helena, California, at the Culinary Institute of America, she learned how to make mustard and sells an exceptional mustard with olives and carrots; another is seasoned with herbs. Raimondo has immersed herself in a variety of cooking and wine classes over the years, particularly during European
vacations.
Mountain Home was a happy accident.
Before retiring, Raimondo put together a spreadsheet of places to potentially relocate with a variety of criteria in each place. Arkansas was not even on the list but a friend urged her to visit, saying it had all the qualities Raimondo was looking for.
“A decade later I am happy to call Arkansas my home,” she said. “It’s such a great place.”
