The DeVito’s had five children — four boys and one girl — so retirement was not an option.
Mary’s father had been raising trout since 1950, and he gave the couple a trout farm to operate with Mary’s brother, Gene Raney. The DeVitos moved to Harrison and built the Bear Creek Springs Trout Farm into a thriving business. It was located right off U.S. 65.

Stocked with rainbow trout, Bear Creek Springs is a cave-fed spring where families and fisherman would come spend the day.
Their sons grew up in the business:
They would bait the fish, help with tackle and then clean the customer’s catch.
In its heyday, people would be lined up shoulder-to-shoulder fishing for trout, but that was before 1982 when U.S. 65 was moved about a quarter of a mile and bypassed their business, said Chris.
The business took a huge hit.
So in 1986, Jim DeVito decided to live his lifelong dream of opening a restaurant. As the oldest of 11 children, Jim DeVito came from a long line of Italian cooks, and
