SEARSPORT – Mark your calendar for 4-7 August as the Town of Searsport, the Pe- nobscot Marine Museum, and the Searsport Historical Society host Searsport Maritime Heritage Days. Cipperly Good, of the Penobscot Ma-

Annual Boothbay Harbor Fest: September 2nd-11th Harbor Fest is a ten-day celebration that


showcases the creativity and individuality of more than 100 Maine businesses and organi- zations. The non-traditional festival format takes attendees on an adventure around the Boothbay peninsula, to experience local foods, live music, fi ne arts, creative wares, wellness events, photography workshops, an oyster fest, a fi lm fest and a one of a kind fashion show featuring original designs made from the marine industry. The Festival begins on Friday of Labor


Day Weekend, with a waterfront kick-off party. A $15 weekend passport includes food tastings and live music at a dozen restaurants, all within walking distance from in town marinas. Other Labor Day weekend events include a Cold River Cock- tail Competition, a three-day Photography Workshop, A 5k Trail Run, a Half Marathon and a Wellness Fair. A seven day Plein-Air Art event begins on Monday September 5th, featuring daily art receptions at picturesque locations. Local shops will host a variety of events throughout the week to include a Made in Maine Showcase, book signings, trunk shows, sidewalk sales and haunted his- tory tours. Other week long events include a Spa & Wellness showcase and Restaurant Theme week, featuring fi ve days of delicious fun; comedy, sunset photography, trivia, live music and more. The fi nal weekend is also jam packed with events, beginning on Thursday September 8th

Cipperly added, “We are going to have an outdoor exhibit that weaves throughout the campus focusing on ports visited by Searsport mariners and Sear- sport ships. There will also be community organizations set up throughout campus and there will be costumed interpreters playing the parts of Searsport mariners. There will be a lot of women interpreters playing people from that time period. We will have repre- sentatives from the Revolutionary War and the 1820. There will be people interpreting our sea captain’s house. From 1 to 4 PM there will be a port sum-
