Book Title: The Accident Author: Linwood Barclay Publisher: Orion Books
This review is a little different in that it's about a book that was give to me as a gift for a recent birthday
...normally I search the secondhand book
stalls and shops for a good read
...in this case it's about another persons idea of what I would like.
The tale is about a hard working family man Glen Barber who runs his own local house building and maintenance business. During the recent 2008 ish recession Glen finds that, due to money being in short supply, his business is struggling to make ends meet. In an effort to help, his wife Sheila offers to find work to help with the family financial worries. Her commitment leads to a turn of events that not only threaten his life but also threaten his local
circle of friends. The accident in question turns his life upside down ...he is thrown into a world of counterfeit products
...products that have been bought on a sale or return basis
...the time has come the money owed must be paid. The noose tightens and seems to encircle not only him, but also a close circle of friends and work colleagues. With his family life falling apart he seeks to solve the puzzle of both
the counterfeit product sales and where the missing money has gone.
Linwood Barclay is not only a teller of good tales
...the writing is also fast paced and interesting. A thriller of the top order.
...keep reading Ivor Kindle.
