This year’s Fair Trip 2016 is set for August 25 – 28th
REQUEST FOR FACILITIES THAT CAN ACCOMMODATE CONVENTION NEEDS
to the
Minnesota State Fair: We will visit the Minnesota State Fair, also do some
side trips to local attractions as time provides The Minnesota State Fair is considered the
“grandfather” of them all! This is going to be a GREAT trip! We will have plenty of time to visit the State Fair and will also make time for some side trips to some local attractions. If you haven’t been on a Fair Trip before, this is a
GREAT way to see another Fair as well as make some great friends and memories! AIRLINE RESERVATIONS: You will make your own
airline reservation – arriving on August 25th at the Minne- apolis St. Paul International Airport anytime from around noon until 4 pm and departing on August 28th anytime from early to mid-morning. HOTEL RESERVATIONS: You have two options on
your hotel room – the room rate is $139 plus tax. You can reserve a room to yourself or share a room and share the cost with another person going on the trip. We will be staying at The Commons Hotel at 615 Washington Ave SE, Minneapolis, MN 55414. You will indicate your room preference on the Participation Form and Lisa will handle the reservations. OTHER COSTS: The Minnesota State Fair has offered
us free tickets to the Fair and also some transportation to and from the fairgrounds/hotel depending on the size of our group. If we have to rent a van it will cost approxi- mately $100 per person (maximum) for the van and gas. However, we do have some options to take the light rail
service from the airport to the hotel as well as to the Fair and back and to other local attractions. We will develop more information on that as the time gets closer. If we do end up doing the light rail, we will make sure that some- one from our group is with you to guide you through it. Once you learn the rail system in a city it’s amazing how much time and money it can save you. Again, you can list you preference on the Participation Form. While we have asked for commitments by July 1st, if
you are interested in going – please check with Lisa to see if there are any rooms available. If so, we’d love to have you join us!
