Summer Day Camps Connect Children with Nature
Environmental Education Center (LCEEC) Summer Day Camps are focused on connecting kids from 5 through 18 to nature on 211 acres with rich flora and fauna, forested areas, instructional gardens and
W
indoor and outdoor classroom space. Campers will spend time exploring natural habitats while experienced staff guides them through innovative experien- tial activities including hiking, stream and forest ecology, environmental activities, nature-based art projects and more. Focusing on discovery and team work, children gain a deeper understanding of the interconnectedness of all life while daily interactions helps develop cooperation skills and encourage friendships. A low camper-to-counselor ratio en- sures children are safe, supervised, and engaged in activities that keep their minds and bodies healthy. High school students can register for an eight-day Physi-
cal Geography field course. For students 14 to 18 years old. Completion of the course earns students three-credits toward an Environmental Science degree, which are transferrable within Lackawanna College or to other institutions.
