l This June, Free From/Functional Food Expo 2016 will open its doors
on the latest trends and innovations in this growing market place. The number of exhibitors already lined up, including many from the UK, has exceeded all previous shows, delighted organisers say. Mintel calls it “the free from phenomenon” and reveals that sales of free-from foods are forecast to grow 13% to reach £531 million in 2016, up from an estimated £470 million in 2015. More than 220 producers and suppliers of free from and functional food, drink and ingredients, will be taking part in the trade exhibition and conference - 40% up on last year’s show in Barcelona. The doors
will open at RAI Amsterdam, The Netherlands, on June 9 and 10. The international event, which is in
its fourth year, is expected to attract a high calibre of retail buyers over the two days, looking to source new products and discover the latest trends. Free From/Functional Food Expo 2016 is the only dedicated event for free from and functional products in Europe. This year attractions include new UK, Finland and Ireland Pavilions, vegan and kosher products, and a co-located Functional Food section. Products range from those which are gluten, dairy, lactose, chemical, soy, nut and sugar free as well as protein snacks, organic; and many more.
