Well it’s still the hot topic, the big EU vote, in or out? I’m about ready for the bickering to stop so we can turn our attention to the next big divide…whatever that maybe? Away from the tension of the vote, I was honoured to be invited to Coventry’s Nobel Peace Prize nomination dinner; I hadn’t appreciated just how significant it was to be able to make a nomination, there are only a few hundred people in the world who can do so. Earlier in the evening, whilst debating who it could be, I had made a calculated guess based on the German themed menu – a gentle nod in the direction of one potential candidate I thought – and I was right! Mike Hardy, Professor and Director of Centre for Trust, Peace and Social Relations at Coventry University who earned the right to nominate through his work striving for peace, unveiled a painting of the ‘chosen one’ who, as I had predicted, was Angela Merkel. If only I had as much luck with the Euromillions! It was fabulous to be a part of the evening and part of Rising, the Global Peace Forum and initiative that was born in Coventry, a city with a reputation for peace and reconciliation.
For this issue we chatted to Jake Gyllenhaal, an actor who likes to make bold choices with his films, his latest movie being no exception. Honest, outspoken and as interesting and quirky as the characters he plays, it makes interesting reading – cute too!
As travel is always on the agenda, I review a stunning hotel in Bordeaux, one that is equally famed for its award-winning food as it is its views and location. Don’t you agree that a short break, just a few days, can be as equally refreshing as a week in the sun when it’s desperately needed?

Cool, sophisticated and easy to pair up, the colour blue makes its way into our wardrobe this month with shoes, clothes and jewellery all there to tempt in the calming shade, whilst the team also reviewed some tasty restaurants across the area that are well worth a visit.
Do enjoy reading this issue; the team have worked incredibly hard to pull it together for you as always! Much love from us all…
Much love Katie & Team xxx
