07 May Rebel Lion Sound System Te Owl Sanctuary

I went to my first Rebel Lion night at Te Owl earlier this year and it blew me away. Everyone dancing, full of love for the music and each other, no attitude, no bullshit, just a wicked night. Te music policy is tight – conscious roots & culture – from its’ beginning with Studio One to the latest Upfront Roots. Te message of the music is fundamental – no slackness or hatred, just pure positivity – get a musical education with a love vibration. With regular guests, you can’t miss this. Get skanking to the good vibes, Norwich.

May Teatre Royal Norwich

Catch those Guys and Dolls from May 3rd-7th at the Teatre Royal, the story of New York gamblers, gangsters and nightclub singers. It boasts a strong cast too headed by Richard Fleeshman, who is a top singer-songwriter and shot to fame in Coronation Street. If you heart Game of Trones, you’ll dig Te James Plays. Tis epic trilogy brings the excitement of a boxset binge to the stage with the chance to follow the lives of James I, II and III by watching three plays in a day on May 14th and 15th. Discover a tonne of battles, passion and even a bit of Lady Gaga because why not. Tere is a cast packed with top names too, including John Stahl from Game of Trones. If you fancy a bit of X Factor royalty, Alexandra Burke stars in Te Bodyguard from May 24th to June 4th. Seats are going quick so book fast. So emotional baby!

15 May Te Story Machine Writers Centre, Dragon’s Hall 12:30/19:30

Love books and words but hate boring formal literary events? Te Story Machine sees no lecterns, no sitting in rows, no discussion about the author’s childhood, where they write or how they get their ideas. Instead see Jon McGregor in a bashed-up car telling stories to people huddled in the back seat or Etgar Keret whispering tales in the dark of the 15th century cellar. Grab an origami story, enjoy grub from the food stalls or a cocktail complete with a tale. Take a journey through the halls and hideaways of 15th century Dragon Hall encountering writers, performers and visual projections. Another super cool NNF event for Norwich yo.
