Issue 179

May 2016

His Royal Purpleness has shrugged off this earthly coil way too early, and joined all the other greats that have already passed this year. It’s a Sign O’ Tese sad Times, Norwich, that we must mourn those who have kept such good company with us during the most painful or wonderful moments of our lives. Keep on keeping on with keeping their spirits alive, and never doubt that U Got Te Look. Crucial. I think I want ya.

May though! Yay! All sorts of treats await us, from City Of Ale to Norfolk & Norwich Festival. Mo’ days in the sunshine and less rain, purple or otherwise, means mo’ chance to have fun in your Raspberry Beret in your Little Red Corvette down Alphabet St, and we’re here, as always, to help you decide where to be when for the biggest larks.

Tis month you can check our chats with indie uncles James, Cambridge rockers Lonely Te Brave, cheeky upstart Rat Boy, Welsh nutjobs Goldie Lookin Chain, and wistful festival act Tindersticks. Speaking of festivals, we had a quick look at what you can see for free this year at the Norfolk & Norwich Festival, and you can win a pair of weekend tickets to good old Latitude too. We checked out the grub at St Andrews Brew House and got our beer on at Brewdog. Tere’re reviews of albums from Cate le Bon, Eagulls and Bad Breeding and a preview of the new Captain America movie as well as round ups of what’s on at the flicks and on DVD. We asked the people of this fine city what their spirit animal would be. Mine might be a crying dove.

I just want to give you a heads up that Outline turns a legit 15 years old this summer, and we’ll be celebrating to the absolute max with all our bitchin’ readers, cos we’d be nothing without you.

We just want your extra time and your.. 18
