ERIKA JAYNE DANCE MUSIC, “HOUSE” WORK ANDTHE WHITE PARTY
Devotees of dance music have been delighting in the glamour, glitz and fun of Erika Jayne since her first number one Billboard dance hit, “Rollercoaster” in 2007. Her instinct for a solid beat and her persona as a “pretty mess” princess of grooves has lead the way to success. This past year, a conversation with Yolanda Foster, one of the current cast members ofThe Real Housewives of Beverly
Hills led Erika to take the plunge into reality TV on Bravo. The result couldn’t be more invigorating for Jayne and this fresh take on her life as Mrs. Girardi aka Erika Jayne was a breath of fresh air to the show. With the current season a wrap, Erika Jayne is honored and excited to entertain as “White Party Royalty” debuts for the
first time with her title of “Queen of the White Party” at Sunday’s T-Dance on Sunday, April 10 in Palm Springs. Here, for The Rage Monthly, she shares her passion for dance music, memories of time doing “House” work and her excitement about her upcoming music and performances.

How is the “Rollercoaster” ride of your life treating you lately? I’m good; I have no complaints. I’m super excited to wrap the show [The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills] so, it’s doing great. You know, I’m now focusing on The White Party extravaganza. Definitely. It’s been nine years since we talked last and eight #1 Billboard Dance Hits later. Other than the glitz, glamour and fun… describe the creative side of your work as Erika Jayne? Nine years already? Yeah. Well, listen I’m inspired by people, places and
things that I’ve done or gone to or seen. I’m inspired by life around me and I think that is what’s keeping me coming back and making music and my love of performing and my love of dance music. I love the way it feels to hear a song you want to dance to. I’ve been fortunate enough to be creating with some other great people. I have
new material on the way and things are good. Excellent. I’ve always wondered if you chose the last name of your alter ego entertainer “Jayne” from Jayne Mansfield? No I didn’t, but I’m definitely a fan of Jayne Mansfield. I’m most definitely inspired by her but I did not choose it because of her. Jayne Mansfield was known to be so intelligent, yet created this bombshell persona. In one regard, you’re Mrs. Girardi and then you have Erika Jayne, who is this wildcat. Well, you know what? I really appreciate that.
That’s a great compliment. Thank you. When you made the commitment to be one of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, how did that affect your personal life and how does that work? The great part about Real Housewives is the
people who knew Erika Jayne, got to get to know Erika Girardi. People who were meeting
Erika Girardi for the first time… were also meeting Erika Jayne. So, it gave me an entirely different demographic. It took Erika Jayne out of the clubs and into people’s living rooms, which is awesome. It doesn’t really interfere with your life. It just becomes part of your life and part of your everyday thing while you’re shooting. You kind of are doing double duty. You’re doing Housewives, you’re doing shows and recording and doing Erika Jayne, as well. It all worked out. It is basically documenting your life; your home life or your performance life, if you will… and then, also mixing it in with the group of women. What do you consider the most memorable episode? I haven’t seen the season finale in Dubai and the reunion yet. There are a whole set of different memories for me. Obviously, to be able
to perform on the show was a big one; that was great. Then, I think my dinner party, which was kind of a nightmare was memorable… for all the wrong reasons. You brought up Dubai and most definitely Dubai is a great memory. You’ll see a lot of great visuals. It’s really cool. It’s always fun to go to a foreign place and experience the cultures. Would you consider doing a second season of the show? I have to be asked to come back and the cast hasn’t been announced yet. So,
I’ll cross that bridge when I get to it. I had a great first season. I must have this thing for Geminis. My husband Tom was born on June 10 and shares a birthday with Judy Garland. Then, Marilyn Monroe was born on June 1 and she is someone I adore, as well. Tom and I have been together 22 years this July and were married in 2008. Oh, wow.
What’s your take on Geminis? I love Geminis. I’m curious as to why you’re asking?
