Equine Aqua Spa Center - The Performance Edge Layups, Rehabilitation, Fitting and More! Horse, Human and beyond . . .

They say that often times the best man for the job is a woman and no case could be truer than the phenomenon of Equine Aqua Spa Center. When these two ladies set their mind to something, they get it done; mother and daughter Ramona Caldwell and Joslyn (JJ) Caldwell-Tyson, both long time fixtures on the competitive AQHA and PHBA horse show scene, recognized a need for a facility that not only offered a place to layup and reha- bilitate a horse following an injury or illness, but also a way to effectively condition and maintain horses to prevent injuries in the first place. With their Whitesboro, Texas home-fa- cility of Double J Ranch as their initial base of operation the idea of Equine Aqua Spa Center was born. Fast forward a couple years and not only is the facility filled with the comings and goings of top competitors and their horses, but also caring horse owners wanting to improve or rehabilitate their equine partners following an injury or illness.

The scenic and already sprawling facility has been added on to with yet another state- of-the-art building to house the indoor 105’ swim lane, the solarium along with built-in Theraplate Stalls and 10 more horse stalls. The additional building is also the new office of an- other ambitious and dedicated horsewoman, Dr. Kelsey Braudrick of Flatrock Chiropractic. Braudrick, along with her numerous degrees in human Chiropractic, is also American Veteri- nary Chiropractic Association qualified, which is not only the highest ranking but also the only legal credential to adjust animals of multiple species. Braudrick enjoys an abundant live- stock and canine practice along with her high- ly established horse and human practice. Her

presence was a welcome addition to Equine Aqua Spa Center. With a resident chiropractor on staff along with a means to evaluate horses conditions as they come in, the facility has become the “go to” spot for a variety of spa services includ- ing chiropractic, massage, hot/cold salt water therapy, cold laser therapy and beyond. Their close relationships with a variety of veterinary hospitals, Equine Aqua Spa has also become a referring facility for post-surgical, wound care and after care for a myriad of injuries and ail- ments.

The beauty of the facility is not only their breadth of services, but also the unconditional caring of the staff and the devotion of Ramo- na, JJ and Kelsey to each and every animal that comes through their gates. Long hours are spent helping each horse either return to performance or get the most from their conditioning and training. Often competitors will drop by, en-route to or on their return from, an event. With a covered arena conveniently on the grounds, it’s a per- fect place for a short stay between shows to recharge yourself and your horse with

For extended stays the facil- ity has a cute bungalow just a short drive away in downtown Whitesboro available to clients. You also have the option to leave your horse at the facility for boarding and treatment with the added security of, not only knowing they’re in incredibly capable hands, but also being able to monitor your horse 24/7 via a webcam system. As long time competitors, Ramona and JJ understand that it’s expensive to keep a horse idle, so they do everything in their power to get each horse back to its job. Dr. Kelsey Braudrick, a competitive Barrel Racer herself, also understands what it takes to keep a horse
