Losses Bonnie Bostian Latham, Nacogdoches,
died January 19 at the age of 79. A lifetime mem- ber of AQHA, she is known for her lifetime of dedication to the equine industry. Her beloved stallion, Peppy (El Peppys Rosy Copy), was her prized possession. She was quite proud that she had been able to raise and sell dozens of cham- pionship rodeo and working horses, making her “Lazy L” ranch brand known and respected across the country.
Kenneth Ray Lynch, 85, Midland, died
January 25. He was a horse trainer and riding in- structor, and won 2 Appaloosa World Champi- onships in the 1990s. He also spent several years breeding paint horses.
Frances E. Duke, 95, Oklahoma City, died
January 25. An accomplished rider, she com- peted and won in hunter jumper events for years. She was also a skilled horse trainer. w
Since 2014, I have been self-employed and lo-
cated in Gainesville, TX. I focus on colt starting, tune-ups, lessons, and showing in Reining, Stock Horse, Ranch Riding, and Western Dressage events. Consistent work on a daily basis allows me to
train and progress every horse individually - tak- ing its ability to learn into consideration. Even though I work with very different horses towards various disciplines, I use the Reining Horse as a guideline: a balanced horse that works off its hind end, yields pressure and follows the rider's cues willingly. My passion towards horses started
early and being able to take English Dressage lessons in Germany, where I grew up, finally got me "hooked". At the age of 21, I started riding
full-time. I spent several years working with reputable Reining Horse Trainers in Europe and in the U.S. Casey Hinton and Pete Kyle let me gain essential knowledge and skill to teach a young horses the fundamentals and take it all the way to the show horse level.
