Nature Education Foundation Announces
Scholarship Program for High School Seniors The Santa Rosa Plateau Nature
Education Foundation (SRPNEF) announced today the establishment of an environmental sciences schol- arship program for graduating sen- iors. Founded in 2003,
the
Foundation has grown from funding a program for 3rd graders to their current nature education programs for elementary, middle and high school students. With an objective of inspiring environmental steward- ship, the Foundation sees the schol- arship program as a logical extension of their mission to edu- cate and empower youth to appre- ciate, protect and preserve nature. The inaugural program will offer
at least three $1,000 scholarships to graduating seniors in Murrieta. The only criteria will be that the student plans to pursue a career in the envi- ronmental sciences. While not a re- quirement, preference will be given to a student who has participated in one of the Foundation’s Habitat Studies and Restoration Programs at Vista Murrieta, Murrieta Mesa and Murrieta Valley High schools. Scholarships are funded by pri-
vate donations to the Santa Rosa Plateau Nature Education Founda- tion at
www.srpf.org/scholarships and administered by Murrieta Dol- lars for Scholars, a chapter of Schol- arship America, a nationally recognized non-profit dedicated to mobilizing support for students get- ting into and graduating from col- lege.

ship at
