Chitianhua orders two tissue machines from Andritz
C
hina’s Guizhou Chitianhua has ordered two tissue machines with steel Yankees from
Andritz for its mill at Chishui city in Guizhou Province, for the production of high-quality facial wipes, toilet paper, and handkerchief paper. The start-up of the first, TM5, is scheduled for the end of 2016 and of TM6 for the beginning of 2017. The new PrimeLineST tissue
machines have a design speed of 2,000 metres per minute and a paper width of 5,600mm. They are claimed to combine a high-performance Yankee with a steam-heated hood. Both Yankees for Guizhou Chitianhua are made entirely of steel, have a diameter of 20 feet, making them among the largest in the world. They enable a high
drying capacity and achieve remarkable cost savings compared to systems operated with gas because of usage of steam.
Pulping and de-trashing equipment ordered for Karhula mill
Sonoco-Alcore in Finland has ordered pulping and de-trashing equipment from Andritz. Start-up is scheduled for the third quarter of 2016. The order for the OCC stock
preparation line at Sonoco-Alcore’s Karhula paper mill comprises a FSR pulper rotor and a screen plate for the existing low-consistency pulper, a completely new de-trashing system including a trash trap, a
de-trashing pump, a de-trasher FibreGuard, a new reject wash drum, field instruments, spare and wear parts, and a field service package. After completion of the modification work by Andritz, the production capacity of the pulping system will be increased significantly, while at the same time energy consumption will remain unchanged, fibre loss will be reduced, and pulping efficiency improved.
Follow-up order for Andritz from Cartiere Modesto Cardella
Following the successful rebuild and start-up of the wet section of Cartiere Modesto Cardella’s PM4 paper machine at Lucca in Italy in 2010, Andritz has received a follow-up order to rebuild the PM3 machine. Start-up, when significant improvements in paper quality and runnability are expected, is scheduled for the end of 2016.
January/February 2016
The project will comprise a PrimeFlow TW two-layer headbox with PrimeProfiler F dilution water control and PrimeForm TW gap former. The PM3 machine has a design speed of 1,200 m/min and produces fluting, testliner, and corrugated medium with a basis weight range of 80-150 gsm. The raw material is 100 per cent waste paper.
First ever eucalyptus fluff pulp drying plant started up
The world’s first eucalyptus- based fluff pulp drying plant, at Suzano Papel e Celuloseʼs Suzano mill, São Paulo, Brazil, has been started up by Andritz. The pulp produced is mainly used for production of sanitary papers. Andritz Pulp & Paper delivered
a number of modifications to the existing PM5 production line including a new rewinder. Within a time frame of less than nine months, the complete line was engineered, rebuilt, and put into operation for the production of both fluff pulp and wood-free paper.
Both Yankees will be manufactured at the Andritz steel Yankee business centre in Foshan, China, which offers customers in domestic state-of-the-art manufacturing, local field service, and quality management.
