FORGING A POSITIVE FUTURE

In December last year, Uniting Communities launched a new bequest society – the Samuel Forsyth Society.

Samuel Forsyth was one of the founding ministers of the Methodist Mission, whose visionary approach to the problems and challenges of his time helped to forge a positive future for South Australians. He had the passion and the foresight to develop a significant plan to help his community survive, find employment and feel empowered.

Today, Samuel’s vision lives on in the work of Uniting Communities, where we are striving to build strong and supportive communities, and help people to live the best lives they can. It is thanks to the kindness of our supporters that this is possible.

That’s where the Samuel Forsyth Society comes in, bringing together like-minded people who want to

leave a gift in their will to Uniting Communities. Members are invited to regular events where they can see our services in action, have morning tea, socialise with other members and learn more about the vital work we do.

The Society aims to recognise the vital role that our supporters are playing by leaving a bequest for Uniting Communities. It also gives us the opportunity to say ‘thank you’ to those who have chosen to play a part in Uniting Communities’ story into the future through their bequest.

It is through their generosity that we will be able to achieve our vision – and Samuel’s – for a compassionate and just society in which all people can participate and flourish.
