February 2016

Oh Norwich, you lovely thing you. It’s Valentine’s this month, so kiss me quick and let’s begin. Yes, of coursewith tongues. Come on.

So. Sad news of late for music lovers of Earth, huh? It’s all been a massive brainfuck TBH. Bowie left us in a style befitting his storybook-like life. Lemmy gave it his absolute all until he passed, and locally, Will Croft, lead singer of Rammerator and Te Future of Music will be much missed, amongst others. Not only that, but we have been keeping everything, and I do mean everything crossed for the future of our beloved Te Owl Sanctuary. I for one would give my kingdom in hell to see the place carry on. Norwich, you’ve been bustin’ your balls to support them, so gawd bless you, every one.

On a happier note, February has approx one million gigs lined up purely for your intimate pleasure. One of Outline’s young volunteer writers, Sass, interviewed Wolf Alice for us which nearly blew her mind, seeing as she bloody loves them. We also spoke to new and established bands Girls Names, Eagulls, Turin Brakes, jazz-but-not-jazz outfit Gogo Penguin and young upstarts Declan McKenna and C Duncan. We had our dinner at new joint Woolf and Social, a beer at Te Owl Sanctuary, and have the full rundown on who should win what and why at this year’s Oscars.

You can win a snowboarding session, a pair of tickets to Reading or Leeds festival, or a six berth chalet at a soul and funk weekender in this month’s magazine. Get up to date with new album, DVD and cinema releases and find out more about one of Norwich’s most fly hip hop crews, Music Lessons. Hot diggety.

If I could cut each copy of Outline into a heart shape, seal it with a kiss and deliver it to you personally with a wink and a smile and a bellowed rendition of CAAAAN YOU FEEL THE LOVE TONIGHTTTT, I definitely would. You know what I’m saying.

BYE THEN xx
