Montgó Chorale gave two Christmas concerts this December and would like to thank the hundreds of people who supported them.
Montgó Chorale supports two charities this Christmas
They are very pleased to announce that they have raised over 3,000€ for charities. In San Antonio Church, Denia, on 5th December, they sang with the Orfeo de Denia to a completely full church and raised 2,290€ for the charity Condenados al Bordillo, a charity that supports disabled people of Dénia. On December 13th, again to a church filled to capacity, with extra chairs added outside the entrance, they sang more Christmas carols and raised 956€ for the church’s own charity, ‘Caritas’ that supports families in Jávea who are less fortunate than most of us.
On Sunday 13th December the Alta Mira Bar/ Restaurant just outside Calpe drew their Christmas raffle organised by bar manager Julie Graff and her friend Pippa Jones in aid of MABS and local animal rescue, Pluto Protectora Animales & Akira.

The raffle raised 655 Euros. Pictured are Gill Somers and Andre Le Masurier (DJ on Heat FM radio’s breakfast show) who won the top raffle prize; luxury Christmas hampers full of delicious goodies. Once again friends
and customers of the bar generously contributed raffle prizes and food items to make up the hamper for which we are very grateful. Special thanks to all who sold raffle tickets, especially Roy Thornton who managed to sell more than 400 Euros worth. A list of the other prize winners is on display at the bar. Additionally, Pippa’s quiz team, The Bar Flies, who regularly attend quiz nights at Camping Fanadix and Gran Sol kindly donated their winnings throughout the year of 579 Euros. This brings the total raised to 1234 Euros and this money will be divided between the chosen charities.
On Wednesday 16th December, Oliva U3A opened its doors to give a Christmas Party for 50 of Oliva’s under

privileged Children. The party was held at the CPC in Oliva. After their initial welcome the children enjoyed the party food and drinks on offer.
Following the food they enjoyed a great activity period with bouncy castle, painting, uni-cycles and juggling equipment, kindly supplied and supervised by Atul and his helpers. All the children enjoyed playing with the different equipment and trying out new skills.
At 7pm Santa made a surprise appearance with little Elf his helper. He was invited to give a box of presents to every child who also had their photograph taken with Santa. The evening proved a great success with all the children enjoying themselves and having a great time. Our thanks go to all our helpers and also to El Bastador for their help with the children.
