Welcome to the Stage Diary, a column that since it was first launched in 2007, has become a major central
point of reference to amdram on the Costa Blanca. Not only is it a guide to what’s on in all the regions, but is also an important on-line introduction to potential expat’s researching community life in Spain. The diary also acts as a planning guide to assist groups avoid unnecessary clashes of production dates.
Calpe Gilbert and Sullivan Society: Following a well- earned break f o r Ch r i stma s the society will resume rehearsals on Wednesday 20th January at their new rehearsal venue in Benissa. Two concert performances of ‘Ruddigore’ will be performed in the Casa de Cultura, Alfaz d’el Pi and Salon Blau, Calpe in mid-April. Careline Theatre: Their annual pantomime, ‘Aladdin’ will be staged on 14th to 17th January at 8pm with matinees at 3pm on 16th and 17th January. Opening night is ‘Party at the Panto,’ raising money for charity. Tickets are 12 Euros for adults, 8 Euros for children under 10, and groups of 10 or more receive a 10% discount for prepaid tickets. Costa Blanca Male Voice Choir: After a highly successful Christmas programme, the Choir is now beginning rehearsals for their summer programme including their first tour to Barcelona in May. Anyone interested in singing with the Choir, join them in rehearsals at Bar Medditerraneo, Teulada, on Tuesday evenings from 6-8pm, commencing Tuesday 12th January. Footlights Theatre Group: After a successful production of the Broadway hit musical ‘Annie,’ the Company are taking an end of season rest before deciding on plans for 2016. Cantabile Ladies Choir: The choir performed a ‘Seasonal Concert’ at La Siesta Church on Saturday 28th November to a packed appreciative audience. A bucket collection raised over 200 Euros for church funds. If you are interested in joining a group of sociable, friendly ladies, you will be given a warm welcome.
