"WITH HIGH-GRADE LEATHER, ARMCHAIR- LIKE SEATING AND DEEP TWIST PILE MOHAIR CARPET MATS, THIS IS THE ULTIMATE IN BACK- SEAT DRIVING"

However polo players or spectators

reading this will probably be much more interested in a new addition to the Range Rover’s many assets. This is Land Rover’s “Event Seating”. Stowed in the luggage compartment, these seats, handcrafted from beautiful Windsor leather, can be quickly and easily deployed to provide comfortable seating for two adults on the tailgate. Perfect for Guards Polo Club’s members’-only Fieldside Parking in 2016. Other “making life simple” additions

include the Automatic Access Height feature, which automatically lowers the vehicle

once parked. This guarantees

that the driver and all passengers remain fittingly elegant at all times, essential when disembarking from such a beautiful car! Of course, among all this gorgeousness

it is easy to forget that these beauties are built to work. Fortunately the team at Land Rover has not been so beguiled and so this 4x4 workhorse carries the most powerful engine in Range Rover’s history. The all-aluminium five-litre V8 supercharged engine, previously used to power the Range Rover Sport SVR, has been retuned for the SVAutobiography. This potent engine offers an outstanding 550PS and 680Nm of torque, offering noticeable increases of 40PS and 55Nm respectively, compared to existing V8 supercharged Range Rover models. With

100

maximum torque available at 3,500rpm and a smooth and sophisticated ZF eight-speed automatic transmission, the SV Autobiography provides an excellent blend of performance, in-gear flexibility and refinement, whatever the terrain. Of course, unrivalled off-road capability

has been a hallmark of the Range Rover line-up since those early, 1970 models – these workhorses have always been designed to perform in the most difficult situations - and the SVAutobiography is no different. Drivers can benefit

from

Land Rover’s innovative All-Terrain Progress Control system, offering them confidence wherever they are headed.

Of course 45 years ago words such

as emissions and CO2 did not feature strongly on customers’ wish lists when looking at cars. Today, for many, these are a key factor and Land Rover is able to deliver. The SVAutobiography can be purchased with a SDV6 hybrid which offers even lower CO2 emissions than the standard model. Such additions of course bring the

Range Rover bang up to date. It was originally designed as a “car for all reasons” and the SVAutobiography simply takes that ethos to a whole new level. The only question is are we beautiful enough to drive it?
