News from the MUSEUM

Contemporary British Watercolours

Come and see a mix of the intended and the unexpected in our free Contemporary British Watercolours exhibition. 21 artists have each submitted three pieces of work, which range from the improvised to the more formal. Watercolour has a natural flow and transparency, with the colours tending to carry on moving after the brush has left the paper – something exploited by the artists to stunning effect. On display until 7 November. The museum is closed on Sundays after 25 October.

Museum Events Fright Night!

Look out for Fright Night! Our October ‘Late’ on 29 October will be dedicated to an evening of creepy happenings, including a performance to chill the spine from the Anaconda Dance Troupe and a talk by our curators on the more weird and spooky objects in our collections. Dare you come along..?
