Judges’ Shortlist Kingerlee: Established in 1868, this family business with 130 staff has provided high-quality building around Oxfordshire for five generations. The business makes a positive contribution to its local community and economy through sensitive development, including sustainable and environment-friendly projectwork. It also provides industry insight school visits, work experience for students, apprenticeships and staff management training, plus support for waste timber recycling and the Style Acre charity.


Fourfront Group: Has been creating innovative, sustainable and inspiring commercial interiors since 2000. Egham-based, it employs more than 150 people and says sustainability and quality remains at the heart of everything it does. It also adopts The Fourfront Way – 10 moral and ethical company values – while supporting a wide range of local community initiatives, which make a real difference and provide a lasting legacy.


GCS Recruitment Specialists: Founded in 1991, Reading-based GCS has evolved into one of the UK’s leading multi-sector recruitment businesses, covering technology, financial services and engineering. It champions CSR through a companywide programme with four defined areas: Fundraising for charities; Local community support within education, business and sporting spheres; Internal welfare through a staff ‘Wellbeing’ focus; and, The Environment with ‘green schemes’ such as car-sharing, recycling, and tree-planting.

Judges’ Shortlist ByBox: Founded in 2000 with a simple mission: to solve the problem of having to wait in for parcels. Today, controlled from Didcot, ByBox is the UK’s leading provider of ‘click & collect’ lockers and field support solutions, and employs 450 people in six countries. With ‘drop-box’ lockers in convenient locations like train stations and supermarkets, ByBox annually delivers more than 20 million parcels.

Anesco: As the UK’s leading energy efficiency solutions company Anesco’s nationwide team of specialists works with local authorities, businesses, housing associations and homeowners across the UK to reduce their carbon emissions. The Tadley-based company provides a complete turnkey service from audits through to recommendations, installations and capital funding plans.


TI Automotive: Headquartered in Oxford, was formed as an independent UK company in 2001, but now operates from facilities in 29 countries, including corporate offices in Michigan USA. A leading provider of automotive fluid storage, carrying and delivery systems for passenger cars and light trucks, TI Automotive announced in June its acquisition by affiliates of Bain Capital, a leading global private investment firm.


W Lucy & Co: Number 224 in the 2014 Sunday Times Top Track 250, with 2014 year-end sales of £161 million. Its worldwide operations within four diverse business sectors – Lucy Electric, Lucy Zodion (a market leader in streetlighting), Lucy Castings, and Lucy Real Estate – present complex and wide-ranging legal challenges for its in-house team.
