ALL-ACCESS AC Condensate Cleanout Device Meets 2015 HVAC Drain Codes

The All-Access Model AA1 condensate cleanout device is designed to meet the stringent new Mechanical codes* for 2015 which require that HVAC drains be confi gured to enable cleaning and servicing without cutting the drain line.

Once installed horizontally, at an angle or vertically, the AA1 allows for easy access to clear and maintain drain lines by vacuuming or blowing out the line using any method, automatically blocking fl ow in the opposite direction of the cleanout. It becomes part of the drain line with no restrictions and allows for easy access through a hinged, gasketed door to add drain line cleaners or pan tablets.

When using nitrogen or CO2, one simply removes the cap from the valve fi tting, attaches the hose and blows the line out. A fl apper inside the AA1 is forced closed, preventing the gas from traveling towards

the unit. Once pressure is released, the fl apper reopens automatically. To vacuum or use a Gallo gun or other method to clear the line, the internal fl apper is easily removed and replaced with an “L” adaptor which di- rects the vacuum suction or gas pressure in the desired direc- tion, for instance, clearing the line leading back to the unit. On multiple drain applica- tions, a Flapper Closer Tool mechanical shuts the internal fl apper, isolating the drains and allowing for clearing the lines one-by one. The optional AA1-INS pre- formed insulation sleeve is available to prevent condensa- tion in attic installations. An ingenious convenience feature is the ability to snap the “L” adaptor and Flapper Closer Tool onto the exterior of the installed AA1 device, mak- ing them available for future service calls.
