Taking the Temperature – business survey launched
Law firm Penningtons Manches LLP and The Business Magazine are together launching a special survey of business sentiment – under the theme, Taking the Temperature
Throughout June, business readers in the region will be asked to complete a short survey which will help paint a picture of business conditions in the Solent and Thames Valley areas, and highlight the most current concerns of companies of all sizes.
The survey will ask – following the General Election, are you more or less optimistic about:
• Economic growth
• Your company‘s growth and future prospects
Companies will be asked:
Are you planning in the next quarter to: • Increase headcount • Reduce headcount
• Maintain current levels Are you planning this year to:
• Secure funding for future growth
• Acquire (or merge with) another business
• Take your product/services into new markets
Business leaders will also be asked what keeps them awake at night? What is their biggest concern?
Penningtons Manches, a £60 million-turnover law firm with offices in Oxford, Reading, Basingstoke, Guildford, Godalming, Cambridge and London, as well as in San Francisco, sees the quarterly survey as building a valuable insight into the business culture of the region.
Chief executive David Raine (pictured) said: ”These are interesting times following the Election. While many businesses might think we now have more certainty, there are always clouds over the horizon. The key is to be ready for any challenges ahead; and we think that our survey will help assess not just what businesses are doing now, but how well placed they are for any future changes.”
